Generally there are eight types of blood i.e. O+, O-, A+, A-, B+, B-, AB+, AB-. Every day, millions of people rely on donated blood to stay in sound health, or in many cases, to just stay alive. Each year, thousands of people in Nepal receive life-saving blood transfusions. In context of Nepal, each day, thousands of people require blood. Every Second, someone in the world needs blood. In Nepal, hundreds of cases of accidents, trauma, complications of surgeries, severe anaemia require blood transfusion support. You hold the power to help bring smiles to all these people. A blood donation is truly an altruistic gift that an individual can give to others in need.


However more of the today's treatments rely upon the availability of blood. For medical emergencies, ongoing treatments, and surgeries alike, blood is the staple upon which a patient's life depends. If 1% to 3% of a nation's population donate blood then it would be sufficient for the country's needs. Yet there is no substitute for human blood. Our only hope is the blood received through volunteer donations from people (donor). It is estimated that annually, more than four million people have a second chance at life because of blood transfusions made possible by volunteer blood donors!
